Yes, you read those dates right! Today’s report has two weeks worth of fun (and not-so-fun) eats, obsessions, etc. etc. Primarily because I had one fun week where I didn’t manage to post, and another difficult one with nothing nice to report, so I’m combining them.
The elephant in the room is that I’ve been neglecting Pen Pals! since starting my recent job. I do think balance will eventually come, but I’ve been dealing with some frustrating health issues that have made that balance nearly impossible. You’ll get one more of these before the end of the year, and a Monthly Manifest for January.
As this hits your inbox, I’ll be in the middle of an MRCP (a special type of MRI) that will hopefully give me some clarity on the aforementioned issues. I have lots of fun ideas for things to share and ways to level up my little letters to you all, and I’m hopeful I can achieve at least some of those in 2025. In the meantime, let’s enjoy what we have now. ❤️
R. — READING
My friends. I’m in a bit of a reading slump*, even though I’m in the process of reading several different books, all of which I like. Any suggestions on quick, lighthearted reads to get out of this space?
*It doesn’t help that lately I’m either at work, in the ER, or napping.
E. — EATING
Our friends in Denver, Megan & Joshua (hiiiii), took us to an amazing dinner at Dio Mio - a casual, fresh pasta spot in the RiNo neighborhood.
P. — PLAYING
The initial reason for our quick 30 hour Denver getaway: Go Broncos! 🐎
O. — OBSESSING OVER
I’d like to go on record to say my parents have the best tangerine tree, and it’s fiiiiiiinally the season for them.
R. — RECOMMENDING
One of Netflix’s newest shows, A Man on the Inside, is my latest recommendation for you. We’re major Ted Danson stans (Ted Stansons) in this house, so watching this was a no brainer. Is it a perfect show? No, but it was funnier than I thought it would be, had so many sweet moments, and revolved around one of my favorite groups of people — the elderly.
T. — TREATED (TO)
As I’ve been holed up in bed over the last week, I’ve been treated to pretty much everything. My husband has cooked and cleaned and scheduled medicine and managed my doctor visits, my mom and friends have come to keep me company and give him brief breaks, and my cats have been extra, extra snuggly. Thank you to my village, always ❤️
I hope you get some clarity!
Hope you feel better soon. Not liking that you have such an issue!
Glad your man is there for you.
And yes, your folks tangerine tree is amazing!!!!!
