R. — READING
Okay so I promise I’m actually reading right now, but over the weekend I got together with my book club (see, it’s related!) for a Nesting Party for our friend, founding member, and mamacita-to-be - Carly. If you haven’t heard of this, I couldn’t recommend it more. It was such a sweet way to spend quality time helping her clean, organize, and prepare for this next phase of life. One of the tasks we did was line the dresser drawers that will hold all of baby’s clothes, which we did with contact paper and pieces of gift wrapping she got from her baby shower.
E. — EATING
Tenampal in Boyle Heights! You will wait a long long time for your food, but it will be very very worth it. Truly excellent.
P. — PLAYING
What’s more fun (and sometimes overwhelming) than picking colors?!
O. — OBSESSED WITH
The famous biscuits at the new South Pasadena restaurant, Cannonball. I promise you they’re even better than you’re thinking.
R. — RECOMMENDING
Cannonball! Duh! (And also Tenampal and the nesting party.)
T. — TREATING (OURSELVES TO)
Our friends have been wanting to try that viral Fruit Riot fruit/candy/treat for a while, and we finally did this weekend. You never know how food trends will really go, and things that claim to be super sour never really are, but this was a 10/10 hit with all of us. I have a low sour tolerance, so for me it was intense, but everyone else was really satisfied with them. The idea is that it’s just frozen fruit with lemon juice, citric acid, and some flavoring. I’ll definitely buy again!!
